Commercial Solutions

Serious energy conservation measures have to address exposed, un-insulated glass as the first priority.

Managing Energy Issues

Through HeatSaver Thermal Blinds, those responsible for large commercial buildings have an excellent opportunity to reduce unnecessary energy expenditure, saving both on utility bills and greenhouse gas emissions. Natural gas and heating oil resources are projected to become increasingly expensive and difficult to obtain. Options for electricity generation vary from exciting and challenging choices to the ridiculously polluting.

Pictured here is the Loretto Heights Learning Resources Center in America. In 1985 we installed 160 blinds covering nearly 6,500 sq. ft. of single glazed windows. The majority of those blinds are still in operation. Return on investment was realised in about 2 1/2 years. The school has since saved approximately $700,000 (£440,000) in both heating and air conditioning costs.

With performance like that, HeatSaver Thermal Blinds should become part of your strategy for managing energy issues.

Here’s Why

Many schools, universities, and local governments are saddled with buildings constructed anywhere from the 1700’s through to the 1980’s which have particular problems with extensive windows and antiquated heating systems. Even if the latter has been replaced, large expanses of exposed, un-insulated glass remain.

Quite often the older buildings are protected from significant alterations by being Listed or situated in a Conservation Area – and can’t change their beautiful but old sash or casement windows. Cold winter winds blow in one side and out the other – taking a good deal of the year’s budget with them.

We can insulate those windows without altering the architectural integrity of the building. We can moderate and stabilise the interior temperature swings by eliminating the effects of the windows and this in turn extends the life span of expensive heating plants.

Serious energy conservation measures have to address exposed, un-insulated glass as the first priority! Pound for pound there simply is no better investment.

HeatSaver Thermal Blinds have been designed to maximise insulation value and durability. With over twenty years experience, we know what we’re talking about!
